Car Seat Education
Car seats and boosters provide protection for infants and children in a crash, yet car crashes are a leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 13. That's why it's so important to choose and use the right car seat correctly every time your child is in the car.
The Cass County Health Department is proud to have 2 certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians on staff to aid caretakers in car seat installation and to provide car seat education.
The Cass County Health Department is pleased to offer FREE car seat safety classes for families in need of a car seat or booster seat for their child.
What will be covered: 1 hour class on child passenger safety, crash mechanics, and choosing the right car seat followed by a 1-hour installation event where caregivers will learn and demonstrate how to properly install their car seat.
Requirements: Registration, proof of financial need (participation in an assistance program like Medicaid, WIC, SSI, etc.), Cass County residency, the vehicle that the seat will be installed in, and the child that will be using the seat.
Registration form can be found here.
Registration can be submitted in person or by email to HealthDepartment@casscounty.com.
**Registration is required and distribution is limited to one seat per family, per year.**
