OUR GOAL is to be courteous and helpful to our patrons, strive for accuracy in our document recording processes and provide excellent public service.

DUTIES OF THE RECORDERS OFFICE

The Cass County Recorders office is the Repository for all Cass County land transactions. The Recorders duties include reviewing, processing, recording and delivering back to the submitter all transfers of property and related documents in a timely manner. We are responsible for indexing, scanning, microfilming and providing certified copies of surveys, plats, deeds, deeds of trust, assignments, release deeds, powers of attorney, deed restrictions, Federal and State tax liens, Uniform Commercial Code fixture filings, and other instruments of writing.

APPLICATION FOR MARRIAGE LICENSE  is one of our many services. Certified copies are available for obtaining drivers licenses, adoptions (U.S and international), social security, etc..

For the above services the Recorder collects a fee and at the end of each month disburses the fees according to statutory requirements. Fees collected help fund important services such as  Domestic Violence, Housing Trust Fund, Children’s Trust Fund, County Employees Retirement Fund, County General Revenue and State and Local Government Records preservation in order to provide records restoration.

MILITARY DISCHARGE RECORDS can be recorded in our office. These records are free of charge to veterans who provide the correct request form required by state statute, properly signed and notarized. Forms and instructions can be downloaded from this website.

The Cass County Recorders office is excited to provide new cutting edge technology for our business partners through the implementation of a quality Records Management System.

ELECTRONIC RECORDING put simply is just another method of delivering documents for recording. Walk-in and mail services are still available. Fast! Efficient! No postage! No gas! Recorded and returned in a matter of minutes! No special software required.

INTERNET ACCESS is available to our patrons by subscription. Contracts and forms for internet access can be downloaded from this website. Computer maintenance fees provide on-going quality and excellence to our patrons by allowing us to keep current with the fast paced challenges of new technology and complex issues surrounding internet service and electronic recording programs.

The Recorder and Staff welcome your inquiries and we will do our best to assist you with your recording needs.

Thank you,
