Cass County Replacement Bridge No. 2300017 - Steel Fabrication and Installation Package

Sealed bids for Steel Fabrication and Installation Package on Cass County Replacement Bridge No. 2300017, will be received at/mailed to: 30508 S. West Outer Road, Harrisonville, MO 64701 until 9:00 a.m. on the 17th day of August 2018 at the office of the Cass County Public Works, and at that time will be publicly opened and read. All bids shall be submitted in the form of a hard copy.

The proposed work includes supplying, fabricating and installing a steel package for a Soft-Match Credit bridge built by Cass County Local Forces, consisting of 100’-6” long, single span, 40-degree skew (R.A.), 0% grade, located over East Branch South Grand River on South Thorngrove Road in Cass County, MO. The County is requesting a contractor to supply, fabricate and install ten (10) HP10x42 structural steel piles (180 L.F.) with pile tip reinforcement driven to practical refusal and Fabricated Structural Steel consisting of five (5) W40x211 A709 Grade 50W steel girders 98’-4 7/8” long, channel shear connectors, edge channels, stiffener plates, clip angle connections, intermediate diaphragms and plain neoprene bearing pads.

All labor used in the construction of this public improvement shall be paid a wage no less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages of work of a similar character in this locality as established by the United States Department of Labor (Federal Wage Rates) and Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (State Wage Rates), whichever is higher.

The Cass County Commission hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry or national origin in consideration for an award.

All bidders must be on MoDOT’s Qualified Contractor List per Section 102.2 of the Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, 2017 Edition including all revisions. The contractor questionnaire must be on file 7 days prior to bid opening.

Contractors and subcontractors who sign a contract to work on public works project provide a 10-Hour OSHA construction safety program, or similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, to be completed by their on-site employees within sixty (60) days of beginning work on the construction project.

A certified or cashier’s check or a bid bond in the amount of 5% shall be submitted with each proposal.

The contract, if awarded, will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder complying with the Conditions of the Contract Documents within the Owner’s budget. The Bidder to whom the awards are made will be notified at the earliest possible date. The Owner, however, reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive any informality in Bids received whenever such rejection or waiver is in his interest.

The DBE Goal for this project is 0%.

No 2nd tier subcontracting will be allowed on this project.
